Code Triage - External - Level 1 (Alert) Hello TFHS, A Code Triage - External - Level 1 (Alert) has been activated Monday, 3/31/25 for weather conditions - Winter Storm Warning, Road Closures, Structure Damage, and potential power outages in the region. We want to make sure essential staff is safe and able to stay close to hospital if needed. If you recall we made a decision as a Health System to formalize our responses to predicted large storm events to assure staffing and supplies are available. When a Winter Storm Warning is in place we will heighten our awareness around escalation of that warning. When a Hazardous/Severe Winter Storm Warning, Winter Storm Watch (issued when potential for significant and hazardous winter weather within 48 hours) or a Blizzard Warning is triggered by the national weather service we will activate a Code Triage - External - Level 1 (Alert). Administration will notify the House Supervisor on duty of that activation. Initiation of the Level 1 (Alert) requires specific on-call personnel to be able to respond within 30 minutes no matter the snow or road conditions. This ensures we can respond to trauma and critical surgical needs. When the Level 1 (Alert) is initiated, the House Supervisor will contact the on-call personnel and offer housing near the hospital if needed to assure response within 30 minutes. House Supervisors have locations for these o/c personnel to be housed if needed. Please contact the nursing supervisor if you need to stay in or close by due to road closures and your safety. The House Supervisor will be the Incident Commander with back-up from the COO and CNO. Thank you, ![]() Dylan Crosby VP Facilities and Construction, Safety Officer (530) 582-3571 10121 Pine Avenue P.O Box 759 Truckee, CA 96160 |
